This amazing dwarf species has been a "must-have" since it landed in the hobby a few years ago.

A max size of about 2" makes this the most adorable tiger patterned tarantula in the hobby with an amazing color to match!

The abdomen features a searing orange coloration, bluish femurs, gold legs and a gorgeous gold crowned/striping coloration on the carapace that is only seen on a handful of species in the hobby.

**These are nearly impossible to get so do not sleep on this species!

NOTE this is NOT the same as the Chiapas Tiger Rump! There are several species from the Chiapas region so not all of them are the same as the true Davus chiapas. We are the only retailer in the USA with legit specimens of these

Message From Will: One of my favorites I have raised in my collection! We kept a series of these a few years ago, and I was expecting essentially what was a smaller Davus pentaloris, but I was BLOWN AWAY from the variety and intensity of color seen on these. The carapace is a gold coloration in person, and a little shiney, the orange is very intense and the legs are a steely blue on the first section and the fact that they are a small species makes it even better. My adults are about 2" and I will include our photos as well.

Take it from someone that has raised over 200 species of tarantulas, if you are wanting a star of the show that is so fun to keep, feed and raise, you need to get one of these.

How we ship live animals:

We ship all live animals using ONLY FedEx Overnight shipping, since it is the fastest and safest way to ship your new pets.

We ship on Tuesdays (for Wednesday arrival) and Wednesdays (for Thursday arrival) and plan shipments on Mondays.

Please make sure to select a FedEx Overnight option at checkout - for "Facility Pickup" or "Home Delivery"!

If your package is over $400 or contains rare/expensive animals we may require you to pick up at your local facility.

**Please remember that "Overnight Shipping" only means that your animal will spend overnight in the box; it does not mean your package shipps immediately and will arrive the next day! **

How we measure invertebrates:

We measure tarantulas and spiders in diagonal legspan. This means the distance from the front right to back left leg (or vise versa) when the animal is stretched out.

Cenitpedes we measure the full length of the animal from the antennae to the back legs

Scorpions we typically measure the body-length of the animal.

Cage Requirements

Choose an enclosure at least twice the tarantula's leg span in width, depth, and height. Ensure proper ventilation to prevent condensation and provide a hide to help your pet feel secure.

Diet & Water

Feed your invertebrates crickets, roaches, or mealworms—we primarily use crickets and recommend feeding weekly. Provide a textured, shallow water dish as a drinking source, ensuring it's just water (no sugar, sponges, or additives).

Temperature & Humidity

Keep invertebrates at room temperature (65°F-75°F) and maintain humidity using soil. The soil should be damp but not saturated, resembling the texture and color of coffee grounds.

Soil & Plants

We use organic coconut fiber for our tarantulas because it resists mold and holds humidity well. For bioactive enclosures, choose nutrient-rich soil, ensuring it is free from insecticides and pests.
